Monasterio Monjas Dominicas,
C/Mare de Deu del Roser 2,
Sant Cugat (08174), Barcelona.
Rising at 06.15.

Morning sitting at 07.15 to continuous background noise from this suburb of Barcelona.

Breakfast at 08.00.
Martin, Hernan & Shinkuro introduced themselves.
Discussion with Hernan at the end of breakfast.
Housework Meeting at 09.30.
Guitar Meeting at 10.45.
10.31 Practising: developing a musical vocabulary that we are able to articulate on the instrument; and make available to the promptings of the Muse.
12.06 Preparation for the debut of The Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists: guitars in the Ballroom at 10.45…
When ready please begin.
This was a sonic statement of the state & condition of the Circle at this point in time & space, so might be titled Monday Morning.
When ready, please play Sweet & Sour.
When ready, please play Water.
When ready, please play Running.
When ready, please play Sprinting.
A little more pedestrian than I associate with sprinting; more a fast walk.
When ready, will the Outer Circle circulate to the right in E major, and the Inner Circle circulate to the left in G major,
When ready, please will the Outer Circle move to the right any note of your choice, as fast as is possible while maintaining fluency; the Inner Circle please, any note of your choice, moving as quickly as you may while maintaining fluency, in either direction.
Comment: For me, the Act of Music is sacred; and the Guitar Circle is a Church of the intention. I would not, myself, chew gum in church.
12.49 A meeting with Hernan to address various arisings for the performance of The OCG this Friday; and work here in the Summer for live performances of RF & The League of Crafty Guitarists in Barcelona.
The common response by conventional promoters, to just about any of Hernan’s live proposals, from KC in Argentina (1994) to RF & The LCG anywhere, is that’s impossible! More accurate, perhaps, would be: that’s impossible - for us: we wouldn’t make enough money! And why not, for example, play one show in a too-large theatre that would make more moola in one night than 7 days in a small venue, and with one-seventh of the band costs (per diems & hotels).
So, what is the best approach when the aim is excellence in performance? Perhaps, go to Gaucho Promotions…
13.53 Lunch at 13.00 with various comments, success reports & questions on playing Blue.
Mariela, our Alexander Technique teacher, introduced herself.
Beginnings: how to approach beginnings?
What shall we do this afternoon? Three o’clock: of this there is no doubt, that it will be three o’clock. But what happens at three, has yet to be determined.
